Ordinary People for Labour Justice protest against Apple in Beijing on
May 1st, 2013

Here we are in China on May 1st, the international day dedicated to
labor, which reminds us that we are workers. Then we realized that
people like us are being highly exploited by Apple and so few know
about it, and yet so many buy its products. A company that hires 1.3
million workers under subhuman conditions. A company that uses and
abuses student "interns." A company that expropriates entire villages
to build their megafactories. A company in which the workers have to
live in the factories far away from their families. A company whose
use of toxic chemicals maims hundreds of workers a year. A company
whose work conditions drove 26 workers to kill themselves.

This is not worth an iphone.

We are ordinary people for labor justice trying to reveal this
reality. We know from the past that Apple and other companies only
change when the public demands that change. If you are an ordinary
person who cares, join us in protest. Take pictures. Make movies. Be
creative. Share these activities with sacom@sacom.hk and spread them
widely.

PS: This picture was taken on May 1st in the biggest Apple Store of
Asia, located in Beijing, China. The four signs are:

How many lives does an Apple eat?
How many iSlaves = Apple
Apple: Destroying communities by design
An Apple a day keeps families away
